My read from last week
The Chargers had no business laying 6.5 last week. We cannot assume a rebound simply because a team played poorly; sometimes that is the team we are looking at.
Matchup analysis
Buffalo can put pressure on Los Angeles to chase points, but its own defensive concessions keep the total and the favorite’s margin separate questions. The Chargers need longer, cleaner possessions to limit Allen’s opportunities. Another turnover-heavy outing would make a competitive yardage total much less meaningful.
Availability and news to watch
Derwin James fractured a finger but said he plans to play with a cast. The Chargers also opened the week with multiple offensive-line and defensive-line absences or limitations, including Dalvin Tomlinson and Rashawn Slater. Chargers Week 3 injury report
