Our analysis
Jacksonville got back to even. It couldn’t get the final stop.
Cam Little’s 60-yard field goal tied Sunday’s game at 31 with 1:55 remaining. Houston then moved into range for Ka’imi Fairbairn’s 49-yard winner as time expired.
The Jaguars finished with 412 yards. Lawrence threw for 306 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. But Houston had 426 yards, with C.J. Stroud throwing for 312 yards and three touchdowns. Neither quarterback was sacked.
That distinction matters. This wasn’t a game where Jacksonville failed to generate offense for four quarters. The Jaguars tied the game late, only to watch Houston take the last possession that mattered.
Travis Hunter contributed four catches, 59 yards and a touchdown, along with an end-zone interception. Those plays kept Jacksonville alive. They didn’t solve the defense’s final test.
