My notes: why I changed the build

I wanted one player in the Notre Dame game, so I kept Faison. I also felt that a Baylor receiver, running back and quarterback was too much Baylor in one lineup.

The latest version replaces Colorado receiver Joseph Williams with Wake Forest receiver Carlos Hernandez. Sherrill stays, and Hernandez pairs with Lopez.

Our analysis: what this lineup needs

Lopez–Hernandez gives the lineup a direct passing connection: a touchdown between them scores for both positions. Lagway and Pendergrass offer two routes into Baylor scoring, with Welch on the other side. Pairing both quarterbacks with receivers is not required; the Wake stack supplies the clearest passing correlation here.

This still depends on three players in Baylor–Colorado. Pendergrass rushing scores can limit Lagway's passing-touchdown opportunities, while a Colorado deficit could reduce Welch's carries. Better correlation does not guarantee that Hernandez outscores Williams. No ownership projections have been verified, so none of these selections is being called low-owned.

Scoring environments from the morning research

DraftKings published totals and spreads checked during 9:24–9:40 a.m. ET research. These are market snapshots, not our score predictions or bets; prices can change.

GameTotalFavoriteOur analysis
Ole Miss at Florida58.5Florida -3.5High total with a close spread; a useful alternative for sustained production.
Wake Forest at Louisville57.5Louisville -13.5Our passing stack needs Wake to move the ball; a one-sided game is a risk.
UCLA at Maryland56.5UCLA -1.5A competitive scoring environment worth comparing with the selected games.
Colorado at Baylor55.5Baylor -9.5Three selections remain here. We need useful production from both teams.
Vanderbilt at Auburn55.5Auburn -9.5Sherrill could benefit from passing volume if Vanderbilt trails.

Affordable options we considered

Gavin Freeman, Baylor WR ($5,500): FantasyLabs reports 40 targets through three games. He remains a research alternative, but is not in this lineup because we chose to avoid adding a third Baylor player.

Junior Sherrill, Vanderbilt WR ($5,100): DraftKings reports at least 70 receiving yards in each of his first three games. He is in the working lineup; quarterback inconsistency and touchdown variance remain risks.

Ty Clark III, Wake Forest RB ($5,600): an alternative way into Wake–Louisville, with the risk that a deficit reduces rushing opportunities. Waden Charles, UCF WR ($3,900): a deeper tournament candidate whose limited passing environment creates a low floor. These two salaries come from the published RotoBaller preview and should be checked in the contest.

Availability checks before lock

Nate Frazier: questionable on our screenshot and in the morning report. Playing status and normal workload are not confirmed. DJ Lagway: probable on our screenshot; verify his starting assignment and any limitations. Gio Lopez: public reports conflict between questionable and probable, so we have not treated him as cleared.

The early players start at noon ET. Confirm availability before their lock and check the contest's actual late-swap rules. If Frazier remains uncertain, identify an eligible replacement within the available salary before making the final decision.

This article will be updated as the lineup changes and availability becomes clearer.
