Feed Skatt: Giants Move to 6-0 When Cam Skattebo Gets 17-Plus Carries
Stats cutoff: The completed Week 7 game at Houston on October 25, 2026.

Cam Skattebo gave Giants fans another reason to want the ball in his hands Sunday. And the win came with a stat that is getting harder to ignore.
Across his first 15 NFL regular-season appearances, New York is 6-0 when Skattebo gets at least 17 carries and 0-8-1 when he finishes with 16 or fewer. That is a career split covering 2025 and 2026, not a single-season record. It excludes games he did not play. This season alone, the split is 4-0 versus 0-2-1, calculated from the Giants’ official game logs. 2025 game log · 2026 game log
Houston was the latest example
Skattebo finished with 17 carries for a career-high 124 yards and a touchdown in the Giants’ 27-21 overtime win over the Texans. His career-long 42-yard run in overtime set up Devin Singletary’s 30-yard game-winning touchdown. New York heads into its bye at 4-2-1. Giants’ Week 7 recap
The workload was a major change from the previous week. Skattebo played only six offensive snaps without a touch against New Orleans. Against Houston, the Giants handed him the ball on their first two offensive plays, and his 16-yard touchdown run later gave them a fourth-quarter lead. Giants’ instant analysis
Skattebo’s 2026 season so far
| Category | Through Week 7 |
|---|---|
| Games / starts | 7 / 6 |
| Rushing attempts | 98 |
| Rushing yards | 418 |
| Yards per carry | 4.3 |
| Rushing touchdowns | 2 |
| Receptions | 11 |
| Receiving yards | 76 |
| Receiving touchdowns | 0 |
| Yards from scrimmage | 494 |
| Total touchdowns | 2 |
| Fumbles / lost | 4 / 1 |
The scrimmage-yard total combines his rushing and receiving yards. His 418 rushing yards have already surpassed the 410 he finished with across eight games in 2025. Ball security still belongs in the conversation: four fumbles, but only one lost, not four turnovers. Official Giants player statistics
Our analysis: A real trend, not a magic number
The record checks out. The conclusion needs some restraint.
A team protecting a lead can keep running, while a team chasing points may throw more. More carries can help a team win, but winning can also create more carries. Fifteen appearances are a small sample, and the split does not prove that carry No. 17 changes the outcome.
It also does not make this a one-man backfield. Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Singletary both scored rushing touchdowns Sunday. Skattebo’s performance was a strong case for keeping him involved, not proof that every backfield opportunity is now his. Giants’ Week 7 recap
Still, the takeaway from Houston is pretty clear: Skatt got his chances and made them count. For a Giants team heading into the bye with a winning record, that is a much better conversation than another week without a touch.
