Bengals vs. Falcons Betting Preview: Why I Like Atlanta +3

Game date: November 8, 2026 · 9:30 a.m. EST

Bengals–Falcons betting preview

I’m taking Atlanta plus the points against Cincinnati in Madrid. The Bengals have won three straight, and their offense can rescue them from some ugly stretches. I’m not convinced they can keep relying on that against a Falcons team with Bijan Robinson and Drake London.

The pick is Falcons +3, the spread discussed in my Monday preview. Cincinnati enters 5–2, Atlanta 3–5, and Sunday’s game kicks off at 9:30 a.m. EST on November 8 at Santiago Bernabéu. This is a neutral-site game, not a normal Atlanta home game. [1–2]

At 2:58 p.m. EST on November 2, ESPN’s DraftKings market listed Atlanta +3 at -102, Cincinnati -3 at -118 and a total of 51.5. These are dated reference prices. I’m taking a side, not making an over or under selection. A three-point Atlanta defeat would push +3 under standard full-game spread rules. [1]

Cincinnati has earned respect, but the mistakes matter

The Bengals beat Miami 31–24, Baltimore 35–13 and Tennessee 43–36 in their last three games. That is an impressive 36.3 points per game, although the Tennessee result included overtime. The winning streak is real; it is not automatically proof that Cincinnati will cover this spread. [3]

Joe Burrow’s latest box score captures why I’m uneasy. He threw for 462 yards and five touchdowns against Tennessee, but also three interceptions. Cincinnati found a way to win. My concern is whether another opponent makes those mistakes more expensive. [4]

The Bengals also needed their second-half surge against Baltimore after trailing at halftime. That comeback shows their offensive ceiling. It does not mean every poor start will end the same way. [3]

I don’t want to ignore Cincinnati’s strengths just because I’m picking against it. Through seven games, the Bengals average 29.4 points and 288.4 net passing yards. They convert 52.87% of third downs. Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins can sustain drives and create explosive plays even when the running game is limited. [3]

Against Tennessee, Chase caught 11 passes for 141 yards on 16 targets, while Higgins caught 10 for 155 and two touchdowns on 11 targets. Overtime helped extend the workload, so those totals should not be treated as normal weekly expectations. [4]

Atlanta has a credible way to attack

The Falcons average 134.8 rushing yards at 4.6 per carry. Cincinnati allows 122.3 rushing yards per game and 4.8 per attempt. That gives Atlanta a plausible route through Robinson rather than asking Michael Penix Jr. to win a passing contest with Burrow. [3,5]

Third down is another important distinction. Cincinnati’s offense converts 52.87%, but its defense allows opponents to convert 47.25%. Atlanta’s corresponding figures are 33.33% on offense and 41.07% allowed on defense. The Bengals’ excellent offensive conversion rate should not be confused with a defensive strength. [3,5]

Atlanta still has to turn that matchup into sustained drives. Running efficiently on early downs would help keep its offense out of the difficult passing situations that can feed Cincinnati extra possessions.

My view is that Atlanta’s offensive potential is better than its latest result suggests. Robinson and London give this team enough talent to challenge Cincinnati if the Falcons play cleanly. That is the response I’m looking for, not a claim that urgency alone wins games.

The strongest argument against Atlanta

The Falcons were shut out 16–0 at Tampa Bay. Penix completed eight of 24 passes for 125 yards and threw four interceptions. Robinson carried 19 times for 76 yards, but Atlanta could not turn its opportunities into points. [6]

Poor weather was relevant context for that game, not a reason to erase it. Atlanta has committed 16 turnovers in eight games. If I’m criticizing Cincinnati for mistakes, the same standard has to apply to the Falcons. [5–6]

The broader scoring comparison also favors the Bengals: Cincinnati averages 29.4 points against Atlanta’s 21.4. Their defensive scoring averages are closer, with Cincinnati allowing 22.6 and Atlanta 23.6. Atlanta cannot assume the Bengals will hand over enough possessions to compensate for another ineffective offensive performance. [3,5]

The pick and what could change it

I like Atlanta +3 because I don’t fully trust Cincinnati to play consistently enough to pull away. Atlanta has a running-game matchup worth taking seriously, and its playmakers can make another slow Cincinnati start difficult to recover from.

There is no guarantee of a bounce-back. Another turnover-heavy Falcons performance would undermine the case quickly. Final injury reports and the actual available spread still matter before kickoff; Monday’s preview is not a confirmation of Sunday’s lineups.
